Account reinstatement question
*If this is in wrong forum, please move*
Just wondering if anyone knows what the current average response time is for getting an account back? Is it better to use the online NCSoft support system or to call them directly? What happened is last night my account was fine. H/H'ed my way thru SoO to get caught back up on Zaishen stuff, then logged for the night. Went to log in this morning and I am banned for "third party software". I know it's been said before, but I don't even know what bots are, I don't use the cartography mod thing that people talk about, and have only purchased things thru the ingame store (storage tabs, makeover credits, etc.) All of my actual game codes were purchased as hard-copy original discs. Is there a way to find out if my account was hacked? I use seperate email accounts for everything, and different passwords as well so I thought I was being careful enough. I don't have much in the way of high-end items or minis, and not much gold saved up so if I was hacked they didn't get much. Just more worried about my toon I was title hunting on *lol* I've got all my access keys and whatnot, know each & every toon name so I know I've got the info they'll need. Just wondering how long I can expect to have to drag out the fight |

Dont waste your time with ANet/NCSoft if you got wafflestomped by code 045. You've been branded a Heretic, they don't give a crap about you anymore.
You may have not used any sort of bot whatsoever, but they made their mind up. |

^Above poster is clearly butthurt over being banned himself...
Anyway, this is from Gailes page and may help you. Also, people have been saying that they have had to wait a long time to get a response from Support when they submit a ticket but thats more than likely because they are swamped by people wanting their accounts back after being 'unfairly' banned. If you really didn't use bots or anything, just keep mailing them / sending support tickets. Also, try Gaile's wiki page (as Grumpy Bear suggested)

Thanks Grumpy I'm a pretty patient person, so if I don't hear much via email I'll just make a nice LARGE mug of hot cocoa and sit on hold for a bit to the support line *lol* As I said, I've got all the info for everything I've got in the game so I'm not worried about proving the account is mine. Only been playing for just over a year, so although I've gotten my money's worth I'd hate to give up such a fine addiction

Well I got my first real response from a GM, so here's hoping we're on a good track Grumpy, thanks a ton for the link to Gaile's page. Following her instructions on updating the report ticket got me a response faster than I had expected, so I'm hoping with a little more patience I can be back in the game soon! *crosses fingers*

It took about 3 or 4 days to get my account back. Don't listen to the whining about how Anet doesn't care about their customers, they do pretty good.

it is fixable i was banned for running chests like a crackhead a long time back and got my account back. a friend was also banned during a double weekend doing mqsc. both of us got our accounts back because we were really innocent and kept at support. dont fall for the bullshit auto response mails saying its perma and you cant do anything. if you really are innocent you will get it back if you keep at em

If your account has been flagged for botting/3rd party applications, they wont review any appeals, Also the quickest way to get a "No we wont un-ban you"massage is to fill out a support ticket via the NCsoft site, and calling them wont do any good either GM's can not be reached by phone only tech/billing support can.
